Nichols Strategies Announces New Vice President

The award-winning Emily Popek, APR, brings a breadth of experience as the newly appointed Vice President of Strategic Communications for Nichols Strategies. Emily’s background in news, coupled with eight years of experience working with school district leaders, provides her with a wealth of knowledge for leadership at Nichols Strategies. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Bennington College and earned her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) in 2022. 

 

Emily’s experience as a veteran journalist earned her awards from the New York State Associated Press Association and the New York Public School Relations Association. Emily’s written work spans across reputable journalism sources such as the New York Times, the Washington Post, and U.S. News & World Report, to name a few. Emily joined the Nichols Strategies team in 2023. 


Born in rural Oregon, Emily’s work centers around telling stories of the community, including directing communications for a statewide initiative to support diversity, equity, and inclusion in K-12 education. In the communities Emily has worked, public schools are the beating heart of every town, serving as stalwarts of equity and opportunity.  

 

Emily looks forward to continuing to deliver innovative and meaningful solutions in communication strategy to school districts as Vice President of Strategic Communications at Nichols Strategies.
